What Happens When You Mix The NHL, Las Vegas, Silver, And @summertooth ?

It was a great story for a City that needed to find something positive to rally around!

#vegasstrong was was a trending hashtag that was created after an asshole, lunatic, and just plain evil person shot a whole bunch of innocent good men, women, moms and dads.

In a city where you can gamble on almost anything you want to, sports gambling is one of the biggest money makers for Las Vegas. as you can see here from the sportbook lounges in all the casino’s!

This post ties in two great things about Las Vegas, the most popular travel destination in the United States. Legal gambling and professional sports!

The casino experience in Las Vegas is an adventure and each casino has a different experience. From Rock & Roll (Hard Rock Hotel), old school Roman (Cesar’s), to Pirate Of The Caribbean (Treasure Island).

Treasure Island Hotel & Casino

was built in October 27, 1993; 24 years ago at a cost of $450 million dollars. It was resold in the year 2008 for $775 million. It has been renovated twice and has almost 3000 rooms and over 300 suites. It’s intertwined to the tram system that ties into The Mirage as well as pedestrian bridge to the Fashion Show Mall shopping center.

This year saw the first sports franchise into Las Vegas..... The Golden Knights Hockey team! they had their inaugural season this year and made it all the way to the Stanley Cup. This was one great event for the city of Las Vegas to rally around.

The Stanley Cup is the oldest trophy in the history of the major professional sports.

The cup stands at 35¼ inches tall and weighs around 34 pounds. And the Stanley Cup is made out of 459 troy ounces of pure silver.

So you ask yourself how does the casino and a hockey team tie together for a post that brings good news.

Well that answer is @summertooth, a great member of @ssg-community and now a friend. He had a contest that had a buy in of 2 SBD’s for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I was hoping for my home team of the Minnesota Wild to take the whole thing. To make it fair he did a random generator to see who would get what team and then cheer for them the rest of the playoffs. My team was the Vegas Golden Knights, and although they didn’t win the whole thing they did come in second place which means I took second place......

This beautiful Treasure Island round is a very cool second place prize to me. I was hoping for this because of the fact that one of my best friends is from Las Vegas this made the round so much more sentimental to me!
