The "Franklin Hoard"
Many of the old US silver ingots have some amazing stories associated with them. I have done my fair share of research. Thankfully I have many friends who also collect silver ingots. We are always sharing information back and forth. It makes this hobby a lot easier having that kind of network.
I have always found it important to share information that can save someone time and money. A while back I heard about the book featured below. John J. Ford, Jr and "The Franklin Hoard." It goes into great detail about many of the US silver ingots. It focuses on ingots involved in the discovery of the Franklin Hoard. As well as US Mint silver ingots.

I had an issue finding this book available for sale. I had been looking for a while. Then about 2 weeks ago my friend tipped me off that it was available on EBay for $175.00. That does sound like a lot but believe or not I have heard this book selling for $300.00.! Last time I checked EBay there was a couple copies left available for sale.

The amount of content in this book is mind blowing. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! Aside from the amount of history, this book provides outstanding images that can help you authenticate ingots that you may consider purchasing. Majority of these ingots are worth thousands of dollars. A $175.00 book is well worth the investment just for that reason!

Here you can see some amazing gold ingots that I would never be able to come close to seeing nevermind acquiring in my life time. Endless images of gold and silver ingots recorded by the major auction houses over the past 60yrs.
This book provides a great reference for someone looking for more information on older US ingots. It's a great resource for US history. As well as a fun read about a massive hoard that was discovered !! It took me a long time to find out this book existed. Then it took me longer for me to find it. I hope this saves someone all that time!

I selfishly recommend you take a few pictures of the pages and make a post from it every day. I will certainly upvote with my ~$.20 and you'll recuperate that $175 in no time... 😉 LOL . Thanks for the share - knowledge is priceless and truth is a scarce resource!

@firecajun9262 It's a tough one to find ! The book is actually collectable. That's why it's expensive. It took me a while to catch one on eBay.
