I recently came across an old advertisement from David C. Davis company out of San Francisco, California. A precious metals distributor from the 1970s. Due to the lack of technology and history. Documentation is always difficult to discover.

This document is very detailed. Including marketing strategy, significance to spot price, and example photo. The spot price shown here make its possible to assign a production time line. It also suggests the 1oz silver slugs were produced before the silver ingots!
