A little step outside the comfort zone ....
The past few years I have found myself interested in other collectable markets. Knives, physical crypto coins, and NOW currency. Not sure what it is about notes and currency that has sparked my interest. Of course the history is a big factor. On top of that, it's the thought of how many hands has this note gone through? I have similar thoughts about old silver ingots. The cross over is pulling me in and I can't stop it..
I have been buying basic stuff. Silver certificates, two dollar bills, funny backs, and now black eagles. The black eagle silver certs are really cool. They have my attention right now. Check out what came in today. My most unique purchase thus far.
1899 $1 Black Eagle- Short Snorter. These were signed by groups during World War II.
This is the first one I have come across. I am no currency expert. I did some research on the short snorter notes and they are all unique in thier own way. Amazing pieces of history! This purchase opened my eyes a bit more to the currency world. These are the types of purchases that push people to dig deeper into the hobby. Sounds like fun to me!

Money will come back hard
When you collect these old notes, you soon come to the conclusion that the collectible value is worth more than the currency value..............Which is zero.......All your Federal Reserve Notes will too be worth zero, coming to a dying central bank near you......Take your pick, USSA, the EU, the UK, Australia, Japan......But I doubt these notes will have any collectible value as there are so many in circulation.
Yes these notes are all based off thier collectable value that for sure. There is a big market for collectable currency. Especially the graded notes. I own crypto currency as well. It's best to diversify in my opinion. Thanks for sharing your thoughts @rollingthunder
I agree the old and odd notes are very interesting. There was someone in my family that found a couple of old confederate paper notes in a cook book they bought in a garage sale. I wish I could have gotten my hands on them to frame because they are really cool pieces of history.
Very cool find! Ya the details in the notes are fantastic. I'm not a huge currency guy but I don't see the hurt and buying some here and there! All good fun. Thanks @knowledge-seeker
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold

Thank you! I will def read up @elemental 👍
Very cool and always enjoy watching new interest develop! That note is really incredible and as you said it is amazing to think about who held that note and what was going on at the time. I say the same thing in my recent post about War Nickels. Thanks for sharing!!
Glad you enjoyed the post. Agreed the recent war Nickels have this similar history. Great fun !
I really like all the history that is associated with these old notes! If they could only tell the stories of those who carried them!
Agreed @torch66
A few days ago I was talking to @thedamus about the lack of notes collectors in our community. Now we have one! Thanks for posting and keep the good work.
@ronaldoavelino I am just starting to get into the notes. Took me a while to jump in but once I started it's certainly been a lot of fun researching and learning a new market.
