Hello stackers.....

Got a call this morning from a friend I haven’t heard from in a while. Unfortunately it was not a let’s catch up call. It was an I need some help call. My friend was part of a down sizing by the company that he worked for in January and hasn’t been able to find work yet.

While he has hit a rough period at the moment, he is one of my friends that listened to me about stacking and collecting and was looking to liquidate some of his stack to pay some bills.

He had already tried selling to his local LCS and pawn shops, but they were flat out trying to rob him from the prices he told me. So I asked him to stop by my shop with what he was trying to sell.

A few hours later he arrived at my shop. He immediately pulled out three kilo bars of silver and put them on my workbench. Two were Republic Precious Metals cast bars, the last was a gorgeous Johnson Matthey old style cast bar.

I wish that I was in the financial position to just flat out help him instead of letting him part with his stack, but I am not. But I’m glad that he listened to me and had a stack for this time of need. While there was no way I could afford to buy all three bars, I did end up purchasing the Johnson Matthey kilo.

This Johnson Matthey bar is old school vintage and wonderfully toned. Look at that low serial number as well folks. You can never go wrong with a Johnson Matthey bar.

While I know full well that I overpaid for this bar. I’m glad that I was able to help out a friend in need.

So after hitting up the bank to settle up. I said let’s go have a burger and a beers. Over beers and burgers we caught up on things. Hopefully he finds work soon.
