# 324 - 10oz Coins - Part 4

Let's continue showing a small series consisting in the 10oz silver coins that I bought last November in Canada.

These massive coins are not easy to photograph, so shiny and reflexive and I am not an expert photographer...

This is the celebration of the timeless tale of St. George and the dragon. The dragon depicted was, according to legend, terrorizing a town, which the hero encountered on his travels. Not only did he bring peace back to the townspeople, he also rescued their fair princess, from deep in the dragon's lair.

The reverse feature is a dynamic rendering of St. George on horseback, at the moment when his lance pierces the dragon's hide; this artful scene is set against a field of light refracting, micro-engraved dot texturing which appears to fan out from the St. George’s position like a halo of light.

The obverse depicts the fifth crowned portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the George IV State Diadem.
