# 281 - Yellowstone
Continuing the Modern Commemoratives Dollar series, we will present you today the 1999 "Yellowstone" graded by PCGS MS70.
All coins of this series weight 26.73g with 90% silver purity. They were issued in Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated finish.
They will be presented in the order they were minted.
This coin was issued to mark the 125th anniversary of the park’s establishment by Congress in 1872.
The obverse of the coin features one of the geysers of the park as designed by Edgar Z. Steever IV. This is not identified as the famous “Old Faithful” since the landscape is different.
The reverse of the coin is adapted from the seal of the Department of the Interior by William C. Cousins. An American Bison is depicted facing left with the rising sun in the background.
A total of 82,563 coins were minted in Philadelphia. The issue price was U$32.00. The actual price is around U$105.00 in this grade.
