# 254 - First Flight
Continuing the Modern Commemoratives Half Dollar series, we will present you today the 2003 "First Flight" graded PR70 DCAM by PCGS.
All coins of this series weight 11.34g with 91.67% copper and 8.33% nickel. They were issued in Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated finish.
They will be presented in the order they were minted.
It was issued for the First Flight Centennial Commemorative Coin Program.
The obverse of the coin features Wright Monument located at Kill Devil Hill near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
The reverse features an image of the Wright 1903 Flyer making it historic first powered manned flight. Orville Wright is aboard the Flyer with Wilbur on the ground below.
A total of 109,710 coins were minted in Philadelphia. The issue price was U$13.50. The actual price is around U$155.00 in this grade.
