What I understood from the outcome of yesterday’s “townhall-meeting” by the large “silverbacks” of the voting bot STAX and the ssg community is that we have reached some kind of a crossroad.
A decision has to made, are we going left or right, or are we turning back?
My feelings are that these are the growing pains caused by the success of our great community.
Our ssg-community was and is based on the 4 purposes, mentioned by @hgmsilvergold, when we started only 9 months ago, which are:
1 Encourage members to produce quality content.
2 Ensure members are rewarded for great content.
3 Ensure Steemit is a go-to place for precious metals news, analysis and more.
4 Ensure that the community becomes significant here on Steemit.
These 4 rules stands as the cornerstones of our community on which we continuously have to build further in becoming the best group on the Steemit platform.
Apart from the support we give each other, it is obvious that this group and the platform needs a voting bot like Stax. The reason is that we cannot always support everybody with our own upvotes, due to the way steemit is engineered as we are limited in our upvotes.
That is why I always supported Stax in investing a for me significant amount Steem to the bot.
However it looks like Stax is now literally blown up by the “Silverbacks” who can’t decide to go either left or right on the crossroad we entered.
I expect we get a clear update on the decisions made yesterday and the effects they will have on Stax’s rules.
I still have confidence the voting-bot will remain in some way and that it will be re-edited in a more open and transparent one. I have confidence that this will eventually be the outcome of all the discussions as the dust has blown over.
Fortunately the Steemsilvergold platform is alive and kicking, with over 200 members, making great posts and content.
Every day I am surprised about what our members are writing. Great respect for all this effort that people are putting into the platform. Not only the by the “whales” but also all the smaller “minnows”, who are equally important for our platform.
The issues with Stax are only a minor throwback along the road we are going on and will be solved for which I am sure.

Yea those 4 great rules, if i was to add a 5th it would be to have fun. When i was a child i remember looking in a mirror and promising myself i would not forget how to play, this is one of my play times ;)

I have been biting my tongue for long enough about this Stax thing.
Things can not go back to normal, that time has past. There was lots of time for minds to be changed but it never happened.
Great post, we need to get back to the core of the group
