Sinterklaas
No story regarding silver or gold today.
Today we celebrate the birthday of Saint Nicholas of Mira or Sinterklaas as we call him here in The Netherlands, Belgium, Suriname and the Dutch Antilles
Basically it is the same guy as Saint Nick 🎅 who is celebrated during Christmas everywhere else in the World.
The last couple of years this festivity has become controversial due to the Saints helper, called Black Pete. I am not going to argue whether Black Pete is racist or not, that is something others are much better in.
At the end it remains a wonderfull tradition where people, families and loved ones give each other presents, accompanied with some nice captious, sharp and subtle rimes or poems expressing most of the times personal events that took place last year.
Maybe a nice silver coin this year, or will it be the same aftershave as last year. Well it doesn’t matter as long as eveybody has fun. Enjoying hot chocolate milk, cookies and gingerbread (pepernoten).
And for all our goldbugs, we eat chocolate coins, most of the time in gold wrappers.
This of course only when you were nice this year 😇. If not, you will end up in the “bag” of our dear Saint👿.
Enjoy!
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
We celebrate the Three Wise Men the 6th of January, "Los Reyes Magos de Oriente" in Spain.
They also bring gold as present ;)
