Copper to silver ratio

Many of you closely look and follow the silver to gold ratio, in which we see the crazy figure of around 84/85. Meaning that we can buy 84/85 ounces of silver for 1 ounce of gold, while the production ratio is close to 9.

But an other nice to watch ratio is the copper to silver ratio. This ratio fluctuates historically between 10 to 30. Looking at the present situation, it is around 19. Meaning that we can buy 19 ounces of copper for 1 ounce of silver.

I run into a very interesting article on seekingalpha.com, dicussing this copper to silver ratio, even looking back to the Roman and Byzantine Empires.

The article is 7 pages long and contains really nice historical data. I found it very interesting to read and would like to share it with you all.

Enjoy!
