Why don't you use upvoting bots? .
They pay back slightly above but the point is to get enough upvotes to get in hot category. That's where people (other then followers) can see your post .
Post drown in the new post section in seconds.
I guess it doesn't matter if you have thousands of Followers... It's all about buying votes... I do see others doing what you suggest... I am a Member of the steem silver gold community, and that helps a bit...
