My Dirty Little Silver Stacking Secret and showcase of my last 6 months of silver pickups, over 150 ounces.
I want to make a confession here. I recently came to a realization when I was sorting though the last 6 months of silver purchases.
I try to do this a bit more often than 6 months, so I think waiting this long helped me to see the light.
Anyways after a few months I add all my new silver to a spreadsheet I keep, mostly for organization and so I check have a quick reference what I have when I'm out and about shopping at coins show or see a coin posted for sale online. I do not keep track of my purchase prices as many people do, and don't monitor my dollar cost averages or anything like that. Once they have been added to the list, they all get distributed to there appropriate hiding place, and various locations. Good advice to spread it all out to different places.
Here is my last 6 months haul, somewhere over 150 ounce. Take a good look and see if you can notice anything peculiar about these pieces of silver. Can you guess my Secret, Have I delayed long enough and built some tension.
I'm sure the photo quality doesn't make it east to tell, so I'll show you a couple more.
Did you notice it this time? Anything similar with everything I bought?
Ready for my big realization.
I am a very terrible Stacker, I am paying way to much for my silver... but I love it!
This is over 150 ounces of silver with only 25 Oz of generic bullion. I bet this ratio is very similar to my entire stack.
I am totally a collector. I love having every unique design I can find, I love getting a single coin from every year to complete sets. I don't mind the premium associated with these kinds of coins. I will likely (hopefully never have to) sell my collection, but I am very comfortable that in 10-20 years, all these will have more silver value than what I paid anyways. Heck, maybe some will have a collector premium. Likely some will not, but I'm totally okay with that too. It's still a savings vehicle, this is all money I would have likely spend on something else anyways.
Sometimes I think I should set some goals and guidelines when I buy silver to try to maintain a certain ratio of generic bullion. I also think I should try to focus on getting a little bit of gold for the stack as well.
What does everyone think? Should I just keep buying everything I love or try to invest smarter?
If you want to see this all a bit better I have a video here showcasing them all.
Also if your interested in anything in particular let me know and I can showcase them better as well.
You have some really nice coins there. If you haven't already, check out the community at www.silverstackers.com it is where I got started and it's a great place to buy and sell bullion on the secondary market without big premiums and fees (if you know what to look for).
That's awesome I'll have to check it out. I'm active on bullionstackers and it's great there. I've also checked out the silverforum a few times, but this one is new to me. Thanks for the suggestion.
Nice. If you sign up you can help me tell them how good steem is. There are some really knowledgeable people on there that would be great to bring over to steem too.
I love the collection Phil! It looks awesome.
Do what makes ya happy! But don't overlook the future possibility of trading generic oz's for gold. (Secret: There is no generic gold...'cause it's all gold!)
Tubes and tubes of Maples is a wonderful place to start.
Cheers!
As well, as a savings vehicle it can really add up. I'd think there is a good balance somewhere for everybody's taste and investment strategy. But Damn if some of those coins don't Kick Serious Ass ;)
Thanks man, That maybe a good fate for all my generic silver, finally get some gold. I'm still planning to bring out a few pieces from storage to sell for Bitcoins/Steem including those Canadian wildlife bears you were interested in.
Hmmmm, polar bears for bitcoin? I like it!
Damn this is So Dirty! Love It!!!lol
Haha, terrible little problem eh...glad you liked it.
Nice collection and nice floor! What is that wood? Love the old rustic look about it, bet you you can hide some silver under those heavy and thick panels and no one would even think twice whats under there..
Ha thanks, That's my wifes prized possession actually. That is our kitchen table. It's a gigantic and heavy rought cute rustic wood table. It's made by a local Mennonite woodworking company around here. Unfortunately I don't actually know what kind of wood it is.

That's an awesome haul, my man! I'm the same way though, I'm a stacker and a collector so I end up paying more than I should. But ya know what? It makes me happy and thats all that matters, stack on!
Yeah, exactly, i think I would be disappointed just buying generic bullion.
Wonderful collection, congratulations friend, I only have one silver coin :-)
