Beyond the Coinstar machine Plunder Log for August 2019

1P
Is this another Beer rendition of our Precious? Mmmm, not bad at all.

This is a monthly series of log entries documenting my extended quest of finding Silver treasure in the most unlikely places or is it?

"One day there will be some poor little old widow with one of her late husband's jars of coins to be sorted by that newfangled green teller machine. She eases the jar on the machine to stare at the electronic screen testing her old bifocals tilting her head one way then the other. She mumbles to herself, 'What happened to the good old days when there's a lovely Teller to give me personal service?' “My Sylvester needs some cat food”, she says. And hopefully I will be there just when she's done."

Meanwhile, I can pickup a bit of loose change while I’m at it.

The results from my local Coinstar Machine

Total Checks four, as I am back on my routine for August but No coin, No SILVER Results but a little key.

Just a key, nothing special I guess.

Now into the results from the Compass Train Fare Machines!

Again with the Summer months train ridership is reduced since Post-secondary students are off and a lot of white collar workers are taking their vacations. But results we still have!

I find myself taking a "Peek" in the "Reject Tray" as I walk by those Machines...

It's kind of like looking in the Old Pay Phones, for Coins left behind... lol...

September 3, 2019... 14.5 Hollywood Time...

Wouldn't bother anyone if you checked. Free cash. $31 since last November.

Nice finds even if there was no silver! You still find a lot more than I ever do. I need to find other options to search rather than just relying on the few coinstar machines in my area. I actually found a fully functional and working pay phone the other day! Thought those were all gone... haha!

Thanks for sharing your adventure with us @kerrislravenhill!

It's not just Coinstar Machines. There is a story of the Local Multimillionaire Jim Pattison who now owns a multitude of businesses was know to check payphone coin refund slots. I had a working Payphone not far from me and it just got disconnected and removed last week. 50 cents per local call. Here she is , the last of her kind. Now gone!

That's a cool one, they've been disappearing for awhile now... becoming a rare sight!
Here's the one I found, a bit pricier to call out than 50 cents though!

15 coins from the coin star machine is a lot, sis!

The bulk of my coins came from the Compass Train Fare Machines, lately it's a bit of dust and junk like the key. But it inspires me to check other change generating machines in the area. Coinstar was just the Beginning!

That old lady will come by someday on any one of the machines you regularly visit with the jar of clads and silver coins, and perhaps even gold!

That's a decent amount of plunder considing.

I could take this $31 and buy my ship or buy my silver ship coin, I could afford an ounce. Note: Black flag is bumped up to $42 CAD from $32 CAD at thecoinshoppe.com

That's a nice haul! I found a penny in a Coinstar the other day, and found a trinket ring on the ground at the shopping mall. Nothing nearly like a $2 coin! Awesome!

If the penny is prior to 1990, not sure, it would almost entirely copper making it worth over 2 cents. I usually keep them for the commodity value.
