It was a braw winter an' she had me aw bundled up in mah heavy snow suit, tied hood, mittens, boots an' aw! Weel as things woods haves it, she was busy payin' fur th' bags of thes an' 'att an' sae forth an' Ahh saw nae point in standin' there wi' aw mah heavy weaither gear oan likes a wee bear! Sae, aff Ahh ran oot th' door of th' shop an' reit intae th' causey, headin' athwart ta th' wee lot whaur uir carriage sat.

Ahh was a fast runner, ur sae Ahh considered, puttin' oan a burst of speed 'att might have startled e'en mah faither had he bin watchin'! Unfortunately mah dash athwart th' causey put me reit in th' path of a runnin' team of horses! Boom! They burst me likes a sack of taters an' doon Ahh went, rollin' an' tumblin' atween they's hooves an' wild startled eyes! But nae sooner did Ahh hit th' ground than Ahh was back up an' runnin' again! Cryin' likes a banshi an' runnin' likes th' devil, Ahh got oot safe athwart th' causey wi' nae mair than a poondin' heart!

What's th' moral ay thes? Weel och aye, ye aught ta swatch afair ye leap but also, if yer gonnae git th' jobby kicked oot of ye, ye better haves yer snow suit oan muckers!
