The Steemit Silver Report: Long-term Chart of House Prices in terms of Silver Ounces – 18 July 2017
Silver is a superior form of money. It is for this reason that it is important to look at what things cost, in terms of silver ounces, and not just in terms of dollars, euros , pounds, etc. When prices fluctuate like you see below in the table, then you know something is wrong (think debt-based monetary system).
Below, is a long-term chart (I did) for median house prices in the US expressed in silver ounces.
Today, it takes 21 331 ounces of silver to buy a median house in the US. In 1980 it cost approximately 1 272 ounces. The day is coming that it will again cost 1 272 ounces (and even lower) to buy the median house in the US.
Below, are a few goods priced in silver. Most, are more expensive as compared to what they were at the silver price peak about six years ago (25 April 2011). It has been a rough time for silver investors. However, the tide is now turning.

Yes, buy silver before they can't suppress the value anymore.
$500 dollar silver soon?
yeah we are probably on the cusp.
$500 is being slightly over optimistic in my humble opinion. I would put it more like $150 by 2024.
Nice post hgm! We were thinking about buying more silver today actually - decided we would buy steem insteed. Tough decisions atm.
thanks. I suppose I would have bought silver instead, since I am waiting for steem to drop to 10cents.
Great response!
I am a huge fan of silver. My daughters college fund is in silver, hopefully in 20years, 500 oz will be enough ;)
500 oz is a lot , that could be a fortune in good time. the question is really whether you would still want to send her to college then...with the way things are changing - the education field could be very different.
Very true, everything is rapidly changing.
But i do believe in education, and hopefully the ed. Bubble pops by then. Or maybe in 20 years you purchase an AI robot for an education???
But if prices keep rising, it might not be worth it, kind of how its becoming today
yes, I hope it pops too...it likely will before 20 yrs is up.
I think it's good to buy booth silver and steem. holding a silver coin in your hand is still a very unique feeling
yeah a shiny kook or a maple leaf...
or a beautiful wiener philharmonic... wonderful!
yes, a beautiful coin.
Great job, I can see 500 oz, buying a home in the future. Thanks for the comparison. Keep stacking my friend.
Indeed! I'm counting on it too for my early retirement :)
lets hope it pans out well!!
Thanks. Agreed...a rather nice home.
