Not a terrible day in the scrap game. 20.23g of sterling silver added to the stack.

Took about an hour to sort through, but I did okay. I like to double up on my "level up" time when sorting through bulk jewelry buys. "Level Up" time is listening to podcasts, audiobooks or listening to Spanish lessons. Self-improvement time that I use wisely ;)

3g of 14K gold

4.11g of 12K 1/20 Gold Filled (about $3.50 in gold once refined)

That puts my stack and just over $10,000 total, which was my goal for 2018.

That savings amount is obviously based on a fluctuating value system, but with silver so low, I'm very happy with it. My portfolio is 70% silver, so the goal for 2019 is to acquire more platinum and pure 24K gold. Since they are nearly impossible to find at yard sales and thrift stores, I'm setting my goal at 2 troy ounces of each to start. I'll definitely be using mene gold to reach my goals.

What are some goals that you've set for collecting precious metals?

You're killin' it champ.
I don't have any goals at all for the stuff right now- just 3 little kids to grow and I gotta build a car...
