COIN SHOP VISITS - QUEEN'S BEAST - RED DRAGON OF WALES

Today's Coin Shop Visit yeilded THE RED DRAGON.

The Red Dragon of Wales on the reverse is A BAD-ASS BEAST. The obverse contains the Queen.

"Have you seen the Queen's Beasts?"

As I told the shop keeper that I need to bring in some of the coins that I have been getting lately. I told him that they have great designs, even though they have a higher premium.

The shop keeper mentions, "Have you seen the Queen's Beasts?"

Holy Crap - I got excited.

He led me to the display case with World Silver Coins. I usually pass on these because they are generally over-priced in his shop. The case contains Pandas and Maple Leafs and Britannias. I rarely get a coin from this display case. I usually only get one annual coin from each country.

I have been SECRETLY LONGING for the QUEEN'S BEASTS. I have seen these coins posted from some folks in the U.K.

THEY ARE EXCEPTIONAL
THEY ARE SOME OF THE BADDEST DESIGNS THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN.

So, I did not need to be convinced, I simply stated, "I'll Take IT"

On the Obverse, we see Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the face value of 5 pounds..

On the Reverse, we see the Red Dragon of Wales, which is clutching a shield with its claws.

During the Year of the Dragon, I did not acquired a Dragon coin or bar. I have seen some posted, but I have not had the opportunity to get one. My favorite color is RED, so the RED DRAGON OF WALES is perfect for me.

After Red, my favorite colors are Black / Gold / Silver. Well, my favorite animal is a BULL. Thus, my next Queen's Beast has to be the BLACK BULL OF CLARENCE.

I'll likely get hooked on the series. . .

Love the coin and the series....if a certain head wasn't on almost all of their money, I'd invest a lot more in their coins.

TRUE - the BEASTS are AWESOME. Honestly, I really wanted one. . . but when I saw it in Real Life, I had to have it even more!

I think the dragon is the best design in the series, but if you do want to get the set better try find a lion before they rise even more. They actually a good buy price wise as well the most recent releases all about the same. griifin and dragon risen a little, but like all rm bullion can have issues. great pickup. loving the 10oz dragon i just got.

Thanks @roxdude, that's great advice to search out for the Lion ASAP. . . I see it is has increased a lot. I have not done much research yet. I did not notice the premium for the Lion until you pointed it out. This advice also points me toward the 10oz for future reference too. Thanks!!!

The 10oz coins come out to a totally different schedule from the 2oz coins. I collect dragons so really wanted the dragon have not got any of the other 10 oz'ers but is awesome. Yeah, I see some EU dealers now have the lion at crazy prices. Goes to show you it's not all about low capped mintages. sometimes unlimited coins do real well.

I am already hooked on this series. I have all the 2oz coins and I am slowly buying the 10oz coins. The 10oz Lion of England is magnificent!

Silver and gold (bullion) is really the proverbial beast in the money world. And just like reality they don't fear the dragons until they actually they see them.
So in this coin is a lesson for me - to learn to ride the dragon(buy silver) before the beast emerges its head in an economic world that is falling apart. The coin is so beautiful that it is an actual inspiration.
