Today's Coin Shop Visit yielded a Barber or Liberty Head Half Dollar 1914 S.
The Barber design was created by Charles E. Barber. It is called the Barber or Liberty Head, design was applied to the Half Dollar, the Quarter Dollar and the Dime. Here is a Barber Half Dollar 1914 S.

There is just something about old coins. So much history and so much beauty. Great pick up! I have not seen one that good of condition in a long time

On second look, it does have a low mintage at 992,000. Anything under a million is probably good.
That's what I was thinking. The other San Francisco coins are all over 1 million.
Maybe I need to find a 1913 S. It looks to be even lower at 604,000 or any 1913 for that matter 1913 D at 534,000 and 1913 at 188,000. Those are some low numbers.
I still don't like the "Spread Eagle" design...

The coin seems to be in VG/F condition. Thus the numismatic value + silver.

The reverse looks similar to a silver eagle.
I think it is all based on the "Great Seal of the United States".
