IMG_20170703_172029848.jpgI'd consider these 5 of the most popular gold bullion coins. Ofcourse there's the Chinese Panda and the Mexican Libertad but I left them out as they're a bit higher premium. Tell me what's your favorite and why?
The American Gold EagleIMG_20170703_171331898.jpg
From 1986 till the present it has been the standard for American stackers. Its composed of 91.67% gold 3% silver and 5.33% copper giving it it's darker appearance than that of pure goldIMG_20170703_171529212.jpgNext we have the Canadian Gold MapleIMG_20170703_171313708.jpgCanada has been minting the maple since 1979. They're composed of .9999 fine gold and feature Queen Elizabeth ll on themIMG_20170703_171540682.jpg
The South African Krugerrand is a timeless classic debuting in 1967. These are composed of 91.67% gold and 8.33% copper giving them their distinct color. By 1980 the Krug accounted for 90% of the world's gold sold to the global marketIMG_20170703_171446265.jpgThey feature the bust of Paul Kruger who was a prominent militarian and political figure. He was president of South Africa. Ofcourse they feature the springbok on the reverseIMG_20170703_171434411.jpg
Next we have the Austrian Gold PhilharmonicIMG_20170703_171409742.jpgOne side of this coin has the world renowned Vienna Philharmonic with the other featuring some musical instrumentsIMG_20170703_175507417.jpg
Lastly we have one of my favorites, the BritanniaIMG_20170703_171345487_HDR.jpg These babies are from Great Britain and feature the image of Una with her trident and shield. Some years had different variations of her and they always sell at a premium. The Royal Mint has been producing these since 1987. From 1987-2007 they were 22 karat switching to .9999 or 24k in 2007. Ofcourse they feature the Queen on themIMG_20170703_171511996_HDR.jpg
Tell me down below what your favorite of this five is? Don't forget to upvote if u love gold!

Sort:

I'm torn. While the Brittania is beautiful I don't like having the queen on my metal haha. Maples are solid, though. Won't be buying any gold til the ratio balances out though 👍

I hear that alot about coins being ruined or boring just cause it's the same old lady on alot of the world's coinage :)

good post. I feel the Sovereign should be on this list, but it is a bit of an oddity with its 22ct gold. Makes a lot of sense in the UK being CGT exempt though.

Yeah the Sovereign may be even more popular and recognizable than all these.. but for the sake of my post I only used my 1/10s :)

For me its between the Krugerrand or the Britannia- The Britannia tickles my whiskers more, so I've got to go for the Brittannia - Nice set of Gold coins and a Great Post ;-)

Tickles! Hahaha Thanks for the chuckle and the upvote :)

#NeverForget Hey GoldenArms, can you hide the army man in on of your pictures in each post to make it like "Where's Waldo"? Thanks. If not he will most likely be in your videos.

Lol he's retired w ptsd now so I can't really tell him what to do. He shows up when he wants :) I like your amry man pic!

Britannias first for me. I'm possibly biased, being British.
Krugerrands next, followed by the Philharmonikers.
I have maples but I really don't like The Queens portrait on them.
I've not got any American bullion, they are lovely but I just don't like the phrase "in God we trust"

The sovereign would win hands down for me though if that was included.

100% they're a timeless classic for sure. Could very well be more popular than these but I just picked 1/10 sized coins for the sake of the post 😁

Personally, I really like the Maples!

Me too they are favorite. I'm Canadian so I maybe biased? Big thx for dropping by my blog 👊😎
