When is 5 Cent not a nickel?
Answer is when it is a half dime.
I bought this off ebay the other day for a bargain of 99p plus £1 postage, now the condition is only good but the date is still clearly visible and it is a nice little piece for my collection.
The half dime is from 1856 and features a seated lady liberty.

And I though this was a 'Trick Question' since Canada does not circulate pennies anymore, our Nickel 'IS' the new Penny. Bought to you by our Central Bank's Inflationary Keynesian fiat currency model.
Getting rid of a penny is just a way to round things up
Another way the Government is Nickling and Half Diming us to death.
Oh my... you have a Seated Liberty! Very nice!!!!!
Sweet piece, no doubt! 😃
Certainly is
If 99p is 99 pence and a pence is like a penny, then that's a great deal! I'd have paid that just for the historic significance of it. I checked on ebay myself and they're going for a lot more than that! Congrats!
Workes out at $2.53 including postage
You got that for an absolute steal!!! Great looking piece for sure, especially for that cost!
