Coin show plundering.
Hey steemers and dreamers.
Today was the local fall coin show. There was a good turn out, and a few new dealers that I haven't seen before. Likely from out of province. Maybe that means there is a little growing interest in precious metals and coin collecting.
I paid for a 2 day pass. It was $3.00 for 1 day, and $5.00 for the weekend. I may pick up a buddy of mine tomorrow afternoon and go back. I took $100.00 and spent $90.00 plus $5.00 for admission.
There was no real variety for bullion, but there was a few descent deals on junk silver.
So what did @fat-elvis manage to score you ask? Well silver of course... And GOLD!!!
Let's start out with the most interesting thing I saw in the whole show.
That's a sterling silver dish, with an 1878 Morgan dollar for the bottom.
Marked B&M Sterling 762. The 762 I have read is the stock number for a 3 3/4" dish with a Morgan base.
And the weight
Not bad for $65.00 CAD.
And while I may not have been born with a silver spoon, I can eat gummy candies from a silver bowl!
Now for some Canadian sterling silver "junk".
Note the Edward VII bust on the 1907.
I paid $2.50 each, which is a fair margin over melt value, but, I didn't have very many little 5c coins.
Now for some gold... Yup do the math, I spent $90 total. $65 for the dish and $10 for the 5c coins. So how much gold can a guy get for $15.00? Well, not very much!!!
What?!??! A 1933 $10 Indian Head eagle...
A tiny replica, but it is 14k. I don't know the weight, but it's not much. If anyone knows any specs on the little guy let me know.
So that's a successful trip to the coin show for me, and I may go tomorrow as well, even if just to hang out.
Another beautiful coin ruined. Uuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhh😪😪😪. Cool pick ups though. Usually better deals the last day right before closing. Don’t know anything about that micro coin. Sorry
I found a place that said the mini coin is 0.4g agw. And for the dish... Made in 1965 it seems. But yeah, that coin was likely pressed in, maybe even soldered so it's ruined as a coin!

Sweet candy dish. Next weekend up here, I'll probally take a hundo too.
I sure didn't see much for bullion. But more than last year at least. Lots of maples I guess, but not much for vintage bullion
