#piratesunday First Mate D Back In Time Part 2 (@dixiesilverminer entry)

Arrrr my mateys; It be #piratesunday and that means two things Loot and Captain K!! Welcome back to the Silver Wings for the second part of our amazing Captain K tale involving a very young and still First Mate D. As you know, when we last left our buccaneer brother he was traveling to the beach to meet the son of Poseidon, Trident! Trident had taken D love Eve captive in order to secure a relic that D had found in his field. D donned is father’s armor and with much fear and bravery hurried toward the beach to meet Trident before dawn. Now, as the shield neared the pouch containing the relic both seemed to repel each other (this will be made clear later).

Arriving on the beach, D could feel the temperature drop with the hard ocean air smacking at his face. Looking up and down the coast there was no sign of his love or of her capture. Looking to the ocean D screamed “I am here you demon now face me as a true warrior should!” The water and sea foam in front of D started to move and morph at first like a snake and then building become the solid form of Trident. D stared at the large figure and asked “where is Eve beast?” Trident simply pointed a few feet away from the men where a large log had formed from the water with Eve tied to it. “Release her you monster” D demanded with more anger than anything else. Trident smirked and retorted “as soon as you have delivered my father’s possession I shall release her!”

On the wind D could hear his love yelling for him and it continued to break his heart. D taking an offensive stance leaped toward the god swinging his heavy long-sword meeting in the middle Trident reflected the blow off of his massive golden spear. “This is pointless man just hand over the relic and all will be done!” Trident claimed. D taking another swing at the god yelled “this is for honor” and landed the tip of his sword against the sea god’s side. Trident light up with anger and stood straighter as he forced his spear through the air grazing D’s shoulder. Falling to the ground from the force of the blow, D took a second to remember where he was and quickly rolled to his feet. Trident was almost upon him and reached out his arm with an open hand. With this action his spear flew back to him without any resistance. Trident looking at D told him “your honor means nothing to me for this is a fight you have already lost!” Taking the spear Trident lunged it at D, who quickly took the shield from his back and blocked the blow. Trident stunned that the shield was able to hold against his weapon was taken aback. D took the chance and was able to land another slice onto the god’s side. Enraged Trident aimed his spear and a bolt of light flew toward D, whose shield was able to block it once again. However, the force of the hit slammed him against a rock face putting him on the ground. As he rolled to recover, Trident placed a foot on his chest holding him to the ground. Struggling to get free Trident reached down and pulled the small pouch from D’s side that contain the dog relic he had found. “You have fought well little man, but this is how it has to end.” Pulling the small dog relic from the pouch Trident gazed at it in satisfaction. Finally, the final part of Poseidon's trident will be returned to its rightful place. Trident speaking aloud described that the silver in this relic was stolen from Poseidon's trident decades ago by agents of Athena. Athena was still angry over Poseidon making her faithful priestess Medusa un-pure, and swore that he would forever regret it. She set out to hurt something that my father loved just as much, his trident.

D laid on the ground with his shield halfway across his body and watched as Trident held the relic in his palm above D. The relic and D's shield began to glow and become hot. Looking at the shield, Trident yelled "an Athenian curse!" The relic began to pulse with power and was turning red hot in Tridents hand. D realized that it was about to explode and leaped to his feet; running toward Eve down the beach. Trident dropped the relic to the sand and began to morph back into the water he had arrived as. Just then, the relic exploded releasing energy out in every direction. D dove to block the energy wave from hitting Eve falling slightly short of her feet. The power bombarded Eve and like that the relic and the explosion were gone.
With exhaustion and concern, D raised his head calling to Eve. Looking at his beloved, D could not believe what he was seeing. The enchanted water holding Eve to the log began to grow and spread over her body. She lovingly looked at D and called out to him. Dropping his shield, D ran to her and quickly embraced her. Holding her to him with tears in both their eyes, D quietly repeated "I'm sorry" to her. Looking deep into his soul mates eyes, Eve grinned and with no anger or fear told him "It is ok my love. Our lives have been more blessed than we could have ever wished." Resting his forehead on her cheek D asked "what will I do?" Kissing his lips Eve said "live well and don't forget me." D with tears streaming down his face responded "never my precious!" Kissing his love D could feel her turning to water and watched as the magical water slid back into the ocean. D knelled there on the sand defeated and broken without hope. Weeping he looked up to the horizon and saw a large pirate ship forcing its way through the waves. It was the Dragon Fire, and D thought of his love and his promise. He made a pact that moment that he would forever remember Eve by pledging his very life to the sea as he had pledged it to her. He wuld find the ship in the harbor and join its crew. The water would control his future and Eve would forever be there with him. It was that day that would link D to Captain K, and send D on adventures he could never had dreamed of.
