Captain K and The Lost Sea (@dixiesilverminer #piratesunday entry)

Welcome back and pull up a barrel or just sit on the deck as Captain D Wing tells of the fabled pirate legend Captain K and his crew from his first mate D to the rugged warrior rabbit Sir Bentley.

Sir Bentley

Our tale starts as many do with treasure, a map, and the copper skull of Hephaestus that Captain K located on a previous adventure. Calling upon his faithful first mate D and Sir Bentley into his cabin, Captain K placed the Copper Skull of Hephaestus on a worn piece of parchment bearing a faded map. The skull glowing with power slowing marked a course in an eerie blue light. Staring in wonder, Captain K looked at his friends and simply whispered the Lost Sea. Sir Bentley, looking at the chart said "Poseidon is not going to be very happy about this."

Captain D Note: For all those that do not know, the Lost Sea is a water way that was hidden by the sea god Poseidon from all the world because 4 artifacts with the ability to influence human behavior were hidden there. The same copper used to create the Copper Skull of Hephaestus was also used to create the Cerridwen Skull. This skull contains a portion of the Celtic Goddess Cerridwen’s power over inspiration, regeneration, and knowledge.

Now Back To Our Tale Already In Progress

Following the path the skull had laid out, Captain K and his crew soon found themselves in a deep mist surrounded by not only the song of Precious the mermaid, but also more dreadful and loathsome noises. Checking the charts and the almost obscured night sky the first mate D yelled we should be entering the Lost Sea now Captain. At that very moment, the Golden Dragon was rocked from underneath and all the sound went silent. Looking toward the water the crew could only see shadow then without warning a huge figure burst through the waves. The deity was a sight to behold with the torso and head of a beautiful young woman and an eel like tail that was currently wrapping around the mast of the ship. Yelling the Captain ordered his men to “fill the sky with dragon’s fire” as the men began firing the Golden Dragons cannons into the creature. The beast laughing said “I am Caoranch, mother of all monster and guardian of the Lost Sea! You shall not enter and today you will join many others at the bottom of the sea floor!”

Drawing his cutlass Captain K began cutting at the serpent’s tail as the ship was thrown around in the water. He was soon joined by his first mate and Sir Bentley. Striking at the beast while the cannon’s fire lit the dark misty air turning it to daylight. The beast only seemed more angered as she snapped the mast and started to wrap the stern castle of the ship. Looking up at the attack Sir Bentley glimpsed the tooth of the Silver Skull of Destiny hanging from the first mates neck.

Thinking quickly and acting even faster, Sir Bentley took out his piece of the skull and pressed it on the monsters tail. Breaking through the cannon blast and screams of men, Caoranch let out an agonizing screech as the silver skull piece burned through her tail. Realizing what Sir Bentley had accomplished the first mate and Captain K ran to his side. Drawing each of their Silver Skull of Destiny piece they held them out with Sir Bentleys. A bright green beam of lightning arced and crackled between the three pieces as they were drawn toward each other. Time slowed for the three pirates as they forced the powerful pieces to face the deadly goddess. Aiming at the intense beast a huge lightning bolt shot out penetrating the deity’s torso.

With a painful cry Caoranch froze and transformed into sand that began to melt into the dark sea. Captain K looking around realized that not only had his ship had taken heavy damage but so had his crew. Suddenly, one of his men cried out land I see land!

Captain K look out over the side of the ship and saw what could only be described as a paradise. Sir Bentley spoke up saying “Sir, I believe we have found the Isle of Skye home to the Silver Fairy Queen Savore.
