Iguana Silver

I hope you like reptiles because this coin features one mighty fine iguana. It came all the way from Fiji, I think it's only polite to take a closer look at this visitor.

The eye of the Iguana

Although our little fellow looks a bit squashed on his branch, the coin certainly has its merits. The edge shows a very cool wood pattern. But the Iguana is also an interesting design. Reptiles, aside from dragons (Are they even reptiles?) are rarely featured on bullion. This coin is one of the few exceptions, and I certainly like the breeze of fresh air this coin brings with it. I'd like to see more reptiles and amphibians on coins. How about some turtles? Or bearded dragons? There really needs to be a market for those coins.

Coat of Arms

Yes, it's a coat of arms, no surprise here. It's the coat of arms from Fiji along with their motto. Rerevaka na Kalou ka doka na Tui which means to Fear God and honour the King.

Conculsion

Alright, what's there else to say about this coins, it's your standard one-ounce silver coin with an unusual design. I hope they don't leave this coin as a one night stand and keep minting more reptilian designs. I really like those themes, what do you think?

Elly is taking a closer look at the Fiji Iguana. She's curious whether dragons are reptiles or not.
