Exactly... one must have both! If one uses all his/her fiat to get silver and gold and when an emergency need arises, one will have to sell their silver and gold, which defeats the purpose of stacking. Many say that the ideal time to stack precious metals is only after one has paid off revolving debt, and has built an emergency fund.
