Introduction

Venezuela is experiencing one of its worst economic, political and social crises in a long time; however, it is not something entirely new. For a long time our country - along with other underdeveloped countries - has lived in a constant vicious cycle of crisis-recovery- stagnation-crisis. Public entities have failed to respond to the needs of our society. They have built an economic and social "monster" that is difficult to tame and that is claiming the quality of life of all those who inhabit this corner of the Earth.

There is an urgent need to rebuild from the bases of our country with the help of all the really talented people, supported by Blockchain technology which, at last, can help us not to depend entirely on "blind faith" in entities controlled merely by human beings, but which would be a robot, difficult to manipulate and corrupt which would give us the guarantee that everything that is done will be done in a clean and transparent manner.

One of the sectors that has had the greatest negative impact throughout this crisis is the private student sector. Due to the economic and humanitarian crisis, students have deserted the country due to not being able to pay for their stay in the country. The universities are not left behind and some have closed indefinitely leaving the education of Venezuela in a poverty that equals the poverty that the citizen suffers day by day.

This is precisely why Unimartrail was born as an independent and decentralized movement that will serve as a platform and main promoter of Blockchain technology to be adopted massively in all areas of daily life of the Venezuelan.

Unimar, its mission and commitment

The University of Margarita began academic activities on January 24, 2000, at the foot of the sanctified mountain range of the Patron Saint of the East of Venezuela, the Virgin of the Valley. It is located on Margarita Island, Nueva Esparta state, exactly 38 kilometers from the northeastern coast of Venezuela.

With the opening of the University Campus, an old desire of the great majority of the neo-Spartans was fulfilled: To have a private university, capable of offering integral formation, different academic opportunities, high quality teaching and to house in its bosom, the hundreds of margariteños, cochenses and residents who year after year achieve their degree in secondary education.

Today, thanks to the futuristic vision of that group, in our Alma Mater of the Caribbean, more than 4500 superior degree titles have been granted, at the level of bachelor's degree in the following careers:

Current problem / Country situation

Due to the economic crisis that is hitting the country and to the fact that the measures imposed by the president of Venezuela make private companies suffer even more economically (one of these measures is a 3000% increase in the minimum wage), the university has been forced to suspend activities taking for granted the emergency situation.

In a statement issued by the university, the general secretary, Fanny Marcano, said that the new economic measures dramatically overflowed the budget prepared by the university for the coming quarter, so that in the coming weeks will be evaluating with all members of the university community possible solutions. He also called for the understanding of the student body and the community with whom they will maintain the commitment of their formation.

The economic situation of the students go hand in hand with the situation of the university, public transportation is becoming one of the obstacles to have the vehicles needed to transport students to campus, another recurring problem is the cash with which you pay for public transportation that is becoming scarce due to mismanagement of the distribution of money

The Steemit plan

Steemit arrives at the right time for many Venezuelans who fight for a dignified life in the country, many Hispanic users or the great majority are from Venezuela and are students, I see steemit as a great opportunity to bring a reliable system like the blockchain to a society full of ups and downs, I also think it is a good social experiment in terms of what impact can make a crypto currency like steem in the student life of the university.

So the implementation plan of steemit in the university is composed of 3 stages

• The main objective is perhaps the most important in a university: the students. I had already said that economic conditions affect the student, situations such as transportation, food or classrooms have reduced enrollment in recent semesters.

With Steemit what we want to achieve is that students have access to a platform where they can both learn about the university and its activities as well as get an income by publishing, the outstanding publications of students will be supported both with the account @unimar and @unimartrail as with the project @inteligentzia.

This opens the door for students to publish their research in steemit as well as start trading with the Steem cryptomone, favoring the crypt market as well as the price of the steem itself and the reputation of the platform.

• The second objective would be the employees specifically the teachers and administrative staff, the idea is to take steem and present it among them so that they are encouraged to perform dynamics in steemit or communicate situations with students.

There is also the possibility for teachers to earn money from their publications, both to help them in light of the crisis and to encourage them to participate in the platform.

• In the medium-term future, it would be proposed that the system adopt the steem blockchain for data storage as well as the Unimar adopt steemit to provide official information on courses, summer subjects, workshops or extracurricular activities.

The possibility also arises to make possible the payments in steem in the campus cafeterias, since the steem being a currency that has much better acceptance than the local currency (sovereign Bolivar) can help sustain these areas of recreation.

Also this measure would affect other universities that would investigate more about the steemit model to apply it to their students and their spaces, thus achieving a growth in steemit.

Why Unimar is presented as a unique opportunity for steemit

In these last months due to all the new updates and some bugs in these, steemit has been abandoned by several mounds of users, this has hit both the community and the confidence in the currency itself. This project arises as a possibility to create a real ecosystem of people using both steem and steemit, experimenting with their functionalities and finally adapting to it, I firmly believe that Venezuela in its current state works as a favorite environment to test this idea.
