WHY DO WE USE BOTS?
Every steemian have at some point in time wondered how their fellow steemians sometimes get huge upvotes. I have been there, so today i will explain how these huge upvotes come. Note: not all steemians use bots to get upvotes.
BOTS
In a layman's mind, a bot is a robot built and programmed to do specific task and is limited to only what the programmer chooses.
It is quite similar in the technological world, but here on steemit bots are built but not physically seen. They exist on servers for purposes defined by the creator.
Below i are the usefulness of bots here on steemit:

Visibility of posts
Rise in reputation
UPVOTE
This is the major function of most bots. They give a percentage of their upvote for a charge which ranges from 0.001 sbd- 5 sbd.
You get interest if the price of steem rises before post payout. This way you earn twice the amount you payed for upvote as well as steempower.
RESTEEM
Some bots run resteem services alongside their upvote services.
VISIBILITY OF POSTS
Upvotes and resteem work hand in hand in providing visibility for posts. If your post is resteemed by a bot lots of followers backed with enough sp delegation from their creators, then surely your post will be seen by all their followers.
This not only improves your post visibility but gives you chances of getting loyal followers (if your posts are quality and original).
RISE IN REPUTATION
Your reputation rises depending on the reputation and steempower of the people that upvote.
This another added advantage of using bots.
