House-building in Steempunknet

in #steempunknet6 years ago

Perhaps I'm just a doofus, but I had trouble figuring out how to build a house and what all those items were for that I had collected in the STEEMPUNK game, and now that I have solved the mystery, I'd like to share it with my readers.

First of all, the house requirements are 300 wood just to build a shack that is suitable for demolition. How do we collect 300 wood when there are so many other items to collect and the inventory caps out at 1,000 items?

Well, you can hide some of your inventory on a page that you think won't be found by other Steempunk players! Navigate to that secret page, open your inventory in the side panel and click on an item that you have lots of and need to drop to make room for gathering more wood.

The panel will then show detailed information about that one item and at the bottom are buttons for you to use to either delegate some to another player or to let the item drop. After clicking LET DROP, it will ask you how many of that item you wish to drop. In the text area, type in the number to drop and then confirm the drop. A message will display saying that the drop was successful. You can now navigate away from your secret page and return at a later date to collect what you had dropped.

Now that you have room for collecting wood, how do you collect it fast?

You can open a new tab and navigate to https://steemit.com/@steempunknet and simply leave that tab open while doing other things on your computer or even leave it alone all night. After a few hours, the page will look like this:

Have fun clicking all the treasure chests and all the notifications of what you found! Note that often there will be a glitch where the items are not being accepted. In that case, r-click in the SPN side panel and click on RELOAD FRAME. Hopefully that will fix things.

Once you have collected enough wood for your first house, in the SPN side panel, at the bottom is an icon of a house. Click it to open the housing panel. At first you will see what looks like a blank panel filling the page but at the bottom right is a button (labelled HOUSE SETTINGS) that when clicked will open a side panel to the left.

In that left side panel you will see the available houses and what materials are required to build each and how long it takes before each is built. If you have enough materials, click the UPDATE button for the first house (yes, you need to build them all one by one and cannot skip any) and wait the required time.

After waiting the required build time, clicking the HOUSE SETTINGS button will show you that blank-looking large panel again, but this time there will be a hexagon in it. THAT is your bare room.

Click on the hexagon and another side-panel opens on the left.

Here you can click to select the TYPE of room for your house. I recommend creating a storage room so that you can increase your storage capacity, but you may have another strategy and find that dropping items onto a secret page is good enough for you. Once you have chosen the type of room, you will be offered a selection of upgrades you can make to that room.

Upgrading a room is similar to upgrading the house and requires materials and time. I'm still waiting for my room to upgrade and in the meantime I'm not able to access the room choices panel to try and create another room simultaneously.

Hopefully this will help in clarifying the housing concept for you. The rest should be straight forward once you understand the game mechanics. ENJOY!!!

A very clear explanation.

One handy thing I learned was the 'reload frame' tip! So thank you for mentioning that. :)

Thanks for the comment and the vote. I've had to use the reload trick many times, so I thought it was worth mentioning. Every little bit of information helps to make the game play smoother.
