Voyager Estate Winery - Margaret River, Western Australia

in #steempub7 years ago (edited)

Today was our last day in Margaret River before we head back home to Perth in the morning.

Today we stopped off at the Eagle Heritage Raptor Center to see their rehabilitation program and see some of their birds in action. Look out for a post coming soon on that experience.

After lunch and some mini golf with the kids, we managed to get to Voyager Estate shortly before closing time. It was fairly quiet and we managed to get some good pictures and taste a few of their wines.

Inspired by the Cape Dutch architecture in the Western Cape in South Africa, the Estate Cellar Door and Restaurant has a unique character in Margaret River.

We didn't have much time, being close to closing, so we got straight into some wine tasting.20170709_163458.jpg20170709_163616.jpg
We tasted some beautiful wines, and ended up with a few bottles to take home once again.20170709_171003.jpg This 2013 Shiraz is a delicious medium-bodied wine with dark fruity notes, and a complex gravelly nuances, with a smooth finish. We scored this a 4.5 stars, one of our clear favourites of the Margeret River Shirazes.

This winery is immaculately looked after and every corner showcases their meticulous approach to their winemaking. Here are a few more pictures from around the vinyard. This is a must visit winery in Margaret River. Next time we'll definitley get there early, and book a winery tour experience.

There is so much more to this winery than just the wine. To find out more about Voyager Estate please visit their website at http://www.voyagerestate.com.au
