Invest in your health apply for a health card before it is too late
When it comes to investing, people tend to go with the following: Stocks, Mutual Funds, Time Deposits, Cryptocurrency and more however majority folks do forgot that health should be the first one that we should prioritize hence health cards existed.
In a post that I created before in Steemit.com for a contest created by my friend @coderzairos entitled Time Machine Writing Contest ~ At the End of the Day Everything has a Reason I explained to the that we incurred debt from the hospital.
Good thing that we have a health card that time which somehow covers some of the fees from the operation and hospitalization leaving us some payables that I did cover in the years that I had been working.
What is a Health Card and why invest?
In a gist Health Insurance Card or Health Card, is a card that you can use to cover some of the hospital bills that you will incur in the time of admission to the facility.
The reason why you should be investing on it is because for a certain amount of money that you will be spending is the coverage that it can give is definitely worth the price.
I will be giving a small example and I do not intend to promote anything here thus I will not be naming the provider.
AHMC - Asian Hospital and Medical Center MMC - Makati Medical Center SLMC - St. Luke's Medical Center TMC - The Medical City CSMC - Cardinal Santos Medical Center
On the graph showing if you are just alone, per year you will be needing to pay atleast 10,739 pesos and if incase that you have a dreaded disease ( critical illness) they will cover a certain amount of money on your bill which is on this case that is 50,000 pesos.
It may be a small amount of money for some, for the coverage of the insurance so I'd suggest that you are planning to get one you can check other companies or get in touch with a representative from the health card provider.
Plus we cannot tell when will be the emergency is going to happen and having a policy or a health card can save you from a lot of expenses in the coming days.
Health Care cards will be wasted since I am still young, therefore it is not a good investment.
This is what some folks are thinking back then. Since a person is healthy in the outside, paying for the premium for each month will be a total waste of money because they are not visiting the hospital nor doing any check-ups at all. Majority of the Filipinos whether we agree or not only visit the hospital or a clinic if they really do not feel well. In an old study.
Six out of 10 sick Filipinos die without seeing a doctor, revealed a 1990 study by the UPecon Foundation, Inc. (UFI) of the UP School of Economics (SE).That is the study almost 20-30 years ago already and still it is happening, we do have hospitals but the number of patients going to them versus the number of individuals that we have in the country isn't that good.
Also other factor why they are not getting a health card is because aside from not getting any rebates until they become critically ill or will be doing some check-ups then there's nothing left for them they will be paying it still which is totally understandable.
The solution
To somehow fix the mindset of the Filipinos who doesn't want to avail those kind of packages, providers think of ways not only to improve the financial literacy of the Filipinos but also improve their health by combining health product insurance and investment. With regards to the plans itself, I would suggest that you get in touch with your resident Financial Adviser in your area and ask what will be the best plan that can cover your needs. Since every company have their own strength and weaknesses that is the best time to practice what works well for you.
Also, some plans are only available at a young age, so if you reach the Senior years you will be having a hard time getting a plan that will be suitable for you and that is why on the title "before its too late".
The reason for that is because as we grow older, our immune system is will not be functioning as perfect as it was before thus visiting a clinic or hospital will be frequent. Since the health care insurance providers are still a business it is a losing battle to them since they are shouldering more rather than earning. That is why there's a limit on what age you can enroll for them.
Overall
If you are working in a company here in the Philippines, or even not working you can apply for the government's Philhealth and get other health cards in that way you can assure that if in case that emergency happen you will still be covered by something.
Health is Wealth and Keep yourself be healthy because any investment that you will accumulate now and if you die in an early age is not that okay.
