Manga Review: I Am A Hero
I Am A Hero is a horror manga, zombie horror to be more specific and is created by Kengo Hanazawa. I've read this some years ago because I got curious what kind of manga this is. There were lots of reviews saying that this was a fantastic one.
I Am A Hero Plot
The main protagonist of I Am A Hero is Hideo Suzuki, a 35 year old mangaka who's life is just very normal. He is bored and is exhausted about life as it is repetitive and his relationship with his girlfriend isn't doing well too.
One day, as he went home, the world he knows suddenly turned into a nightmare as his girlfriend along with many other people turned into homicidal creatures that behaves like a zombie and attacks and eat people. This is where his adventure begin.
Review
The first few chapters of the manga is really boring, it shows the daily life of the main character. But after first zombie scene, it then became a thrilling adventure all the way to the end as zombies after zombies will be dealt.
There were also a lot of chapters where the art would really show how creepy it is and even though you're just reading it, you would get goosebumps all over your body.
I like the fact that the main character is just an ordinary person without any exceptional talent or skills, he is just good with his sporting shotgun as it is his hobby.
One thing that I love about this manga and any other zombie or horror genres is that it shows the true nature of people. It will challenge your morality because in order to survive, you must become a killer. There were also chapters where even baby zombies appear which was really a one of a kind experience for the readers.
The only thing that I got disappointed about I Am A Hero is about the final chapters which is an ending you would not expect nor hoping for.
