I've moved to Hive, along with most other people, following Justin Sun's takeover of Steem in the Spring of 2020. I believe hive is a lot more decentralised than Steem!
That book was prescient about a lot of things. I was working at a bookstore when it came out, and they were all gung-ho about selling their new e-reader. I remember asking, "Why do we want to sell a digital device to the few people out there that still want to go to a physical bookstore?" Six years and four CEOs later they'd lost nearly a billion dollars on the project and alienated all their best customers.
That's a great ironic event there!
It's an old book I know but so insightful I really felt it worth the time to summarise in depth!
