The influence of the moon on the development of plants

Hello, friends Steemians, today I bring you a topic about the influence of the moon on the development of plants; And is that our grandparents had many secrets to get good crops in their crops, one of its main secrets was that when planting their plants, they took into account the lunar phases.

In the past, farmers used to wait for the lunar phase that favored the type of plant they were going to grow; The farmer by his experience, already knew in what period it was prudent to grow cereals, tubers or plant trees, this guaranteed good harvests.

I consider this topic very important, especially for those who dedicate or wish to cultivate plants in their gardens or in the field. But for this, it is necessary to explain the different lunar phases and how to identify each phase.

The phases of the moon

The moon revolves around the Earth, this lasts a month and then returns to its initial position. The lunar phases are: New Moon, Crescent Moon, Full Moon and Fourth Waning; the reciprocal movements of the Earth and the Moon in space, explain the different lunar phases that we can all observe.

How does the lunar phases influence plants?

The plants contain a liquid that flows through their tissues, what we call sap, this liquid moves inside the plant in ascending and descending form, that is, the sap rises and falls, according to the lunar phase.

Movement of the sap in the plants in the different lunar phases:
Phase of the new moon: in this phase, the light decreases and the sap of the plant flows down and concentrates on the root. This is a favorable phase to carry out the pruning and harvesting of tubers.

Moon phase in crescent moon: in this phase, the light of the moon increases, the sap begins to flow from the ascending root to circulate throughout the plant. In this phase it is also advisable to plant seeds, it is ideal for the cultivation of vegetables, cabbages, spinach and lettuce, parsley and all green leaf plants, where their foliage is used.

One of the reasons why this phase favors the rapid germination of the seeds, is because in the soil there are large movements of the water and the seeds have the opportunity to absorb the water and germinate at the precise moment. In this phase, germination occurs more homogeneously than those that are sown in other periods.

Full Moon: in this phase, the sap will be distributed throughout the plant, ideal for harvesting vegetables and fruits. It is also recommended to cut the forages, since the plants have their maximum nutritional capacity to favor the animals. In addition, it will also be good to cut, graft or flip the compost.

Phase of moon in waning quarter: in this phase the light of the moon diminishes, and the sap begins to diminish accumulating in the root, it is an ideal phase to plant tubers or tubers, very good to transplant seedlings, this phase and the new moon is the best for the breeding and production of earthworms, I consider this phase to be one of the most important in agriculture, very good for planting corn and obtaining good yields.

How to identify the lunar phases?

The lunar phases can be defined by their forms: DOC.

Crescent: the moon has the shape of a "D"
Full moon: it will have an "O" shape
Moon in a waning quarter: Your shape will be a "C"

I hope this information is useful for the entire Steemit community, greetings.

During the lunar phase the light decreases and the sap of the plant flows down and concentrates on the root there by increasing the growth rate of the plant..... thanks for educating us on this fact.
