EPL:Arsene Wenger pleased with Team Bounce back

Arsene Wenger is pleased with the way Arsenal have responded from their early season setbacks to into the second international break on the rise.

The Gunners recovered from a 1-0 defeat by Stoke and 4-0 at Liverpool before the previous round of World Cup qualifying but their comfortable 2-0 victory over Brighton on Sunday made six wins out of seven matches in all competitions, in addition to a draw against Chelsea, as players returned from international service.

The north side of London is in a much better place a month and Wenger - celebrating 21 years at the club - says Arsenal is back on track.

"We got what we wanted and just before the break," Wenger said, reflecting on Arsenal's victory over Brighton thanks to goals from Nacho Monreal and Alex Iwobi. "Our last international break was a nightmare, but this one is a little bit better.


"Yes, I would have loved to be able to continue playing, but we can not do anything about it, let's hope the players are back in good shape, I knew that after the match in Liverpool everybody scored us.

"Nothing is permanent, you are not bad in a permanent way, if you can do something about it, you are not good permanently, if you do not keep your urgency, put some victories and some good performances too."

After seven games, Arsenal are six points behind impressive Manchester City and Manchester United, but one point behind Tottenham and Chelsea.


Wenger, however, says it is still too early to think about how the title race is forming.

"It's too early, seven games played, 31 to play," he said. "Last year, after six games, Man City was at the top with 18 points, we are not going to draw any quick conclusions, [City] played excellent yesterday [in their 1-0 victory against Chelsea], but it is a long way to go".

Wenger also confirmed to Laurent Koscielny (Achilles), Mesut Ozil (knee) and Danny Welbeck would stay with the club during the international break as they work to return to full fitness.
