Avoid Jakarta's Traffic Jam

Have you gone to Jakarta? If your answer is yes, you might have the experience stuck in the middle of the traffic jam. Sometimes this traffic could happened also even in weekends. Although most of people in Jakarta don't work on Saturday and Sunday but we never could predicted whenever the traffic would be crowded or not. But nowadays actually we could use the public transportation to solve the problem. Actually there are some choices of the vehicle to avoid the traffic jams, and in my opinion those are:

The first one is transjakarta bus.

I took the picture when i was in the monas station. It is how the old style look of Indonesian bus, some of the transjakarta have this style, but not much.

Transjakarta is the first system of bus rapid transit in South East and South Asia, which has operated since 2004 in Jakarta. It has the longest route in the world (around 230 km) and it has 243 stations which spreaded into 13 corridors. Mostly of corridors have 5am-10pm working hours, but now some of them have operated 24 hours a day.
How far we will go in this bus, we only need to pay 3,500 IDR (0,25 usd) for all routes. All of the bus are fully airconditionered and they have separated room for women (at front of the bus). So it is quite comfortable when it is not too crowded.

Now we also have the MRT (mass rapid transit), a rapid transit system in Jakarta. Although it is now still operated in 1st phase (as far of Lebak Bulus to Bundaran Hotel Indonesia). It is a fastest way to reach our destination nowadays. I use this MRT everyday to go to work, it is really fast and no traffic jam cause it has its' own rail.
Inside was really really comfortable and it could move fast. And now the government is still on the process for the other phase of it. For the fare of course it is a more expensive than Transjakarta. For it counts by how many stations that you pass through. Once i wrote about my first ride on this train here

It is really comfortable inside

The third one i choose is KRL Commuterline, a commuter rail system with the rail passes through the Jabodetabek (Jakarta Bogor Depok Tangerang and Bekasi) area. So we could use it to go to other city near Jakarta like Bogor. The fare of it is really cheap, from Jakarta to Bogor we only need to pay 6,000 IDR per person (distance between jakarta-bogor around 60km).

The last one is LRT, unfortunately it is still only a short route that finished until now. LRT is a light metro system in Jakarta which currently under construction and planned to Jabodebek (Jakarta bogor depok bekasi) area. The 1st phase is only 63% finished and now only operated from Rawa Mangun to Kelapa Gading South Jakarta.

Actually it is not as big as the MRT train. But it is also comfortable. For the short route we still have refund for the far that we paid (so it is still free).

I mention you some way to escape Jakarta's traffic that i use in weekends, and weekdays. If you are in Jakarta, you could try them too to avoid Jakarta's traffic jam.
