SCHOOL FOR PARENTS: The child refuses to go to school.
If your child is a student in the lower grades, you will most likely face situations where you do not want to go to school. Consider what parents can do in this case.

1. Identify the problem
Chances are you can not agree with the wishes of the child and allow him to stay at home. First you need to identify the problem.
- Baby love to sleep late?
- Maybe he has too much charge at school or at school harassed him?
- Or maybe you can not find a common language with the teacher or are you bored at school?
Ask the child about the true reasons for his reluctance to go to school when he is in a good mood.
2. Do not pay attention to the child's request.
Tell the child that if he is really sick and does not want to go to school, he will need to see a doctor and stay in bed. Explain that you can not do what you want. Do not show extra attention or sympathy if the child, however, stays at home.The point is not to make a home a more attractive place for a child than a school. A child should know that going to school is his responsibility. For example, you can express the rule that a child should go to school if they do not have a fever or other serious symptoms.
3. Set a clear time when the baby should go to bed.
Often, the child wants to stay at home simply because he likes to sleep a little longer. The solution to the problem in this case is one thing: give the child a good night's sleep.Children need more sleep than adults and, therefore, they should go to bed earlier. It is necessary to follow this rule: if the child wakes up at 6:30 a.m., he should go to bed at 9:00 p.m. or, as a last resort, at 9:30 p.m.
4. Do not give your child long lectures about the importance of going to school.
Avoid long notes on the importance of going to school. Not only is it useless, but, in the worst case, it can even hurt. Focusing on the negative, it can only exacerbate the problem.
5. Make sure the child is not bullied at school.
Sometimes a child is afraid to confess to parents that school harassers are harassed because they fear that after that it will only get worse.To find out if a child is being bullied at school, ask some important questions that motivate them to share their experience. Discuss school affairs only when the child is in a good mood. If a child has problems of this type, teach him to ignore the ridicule and choose good friends. If the situation has gone too far, you should talk to the teacher or the principal about what is happening and, through joint efforts, stop the bullying.
6. Check if the child is worried about problems at school.
Maybe the teacher is too strict for his son; the child does not understand any topic, can not find friends at school or feels bad in the new environment. All this can make the child worry about school and, therefore, is not willing to go there.
Help your child prepare for school. To do this, follow these recommendations:
- make sure the child is doing homework on time;
- help your child understand complex issues;
- Keep in touch with teachers to always know what is happening at school.
If the fact is that the child can not find friends at school, other strategies should be used.
Source
- Parents can take the initiative and invite classmates to their home to make friends with them.
- A child can go to school not with his parents, but with friends.
- Parents must pick up the child from school on time.
Learning Disorders
Source
The most common verbal learning disorder is dyslexia. Because of it, the child can not recognize sounds and letters. Children suffering from dyslexia have problems reading and writing.
Children with nonverbal learning disorders have difficulty processing visual images. For example, a child may be confused with a plus sign.
Attention deficit disorder often causes learning difficulties and they have difficulty concentrating on their studies.
To understand why a child is lagging behind in school, parents should work closely with teachers. In some cases, the cause may be problems with vision or hearing.
