Objects of the landscape | Telephone booths
Historically, technology has saved man time and effort by facilitating tasks and speeding up processes that used to take many hours, months and even years. With the passing of time, technology embraces greater areas and offers new advances that leave in its path that technology of the past, that which, whether due to obsolescence, high production costs or low performance, is surpassed by novelty.
In my eagerness to record everyday life through photographic optics, I travel through common places to find moments and places that I consider special but that for the majority go unnoticed by the vertigo in which life develops in the city.
In Caracas there is a place dedicated to pedestrian traffic called Sabana Grande Boulevard. This corridor connects Plaza Venezuela with Sabana Grande and Chacaíto, and is a commercial space full of all kinds of shops, restaurants, bars, clubs and hotels. Beyond its importance as a commercial space, today I come to show a photographic tetrad of a motif that is seeing its last times of life on the boulevard, a technological piece that was revolutionary at the time and has now been displaced.

Tools that used to be the solution for communication are now the perfect motif for this still life. These four public telephone booths are among the few that still exist on the boulevard and which, being already inanimate objects of the landscape, have become a canvas for urban art, transforming their function from intercom to an artistic platform.

No one realizes that it exists anymore, it is simply an inert element in the urban landscape.

Used as a wall for advertising services. People in their frenetic routine watch me take the picture.

This little boy stopped while I was taking the picture, his mother waiting for him... observes.

In the latter, telephones are no longer conserved, their disuse and bandalism have left the booths empty.
