La última colisión

El universo pareciera ser el escenario perfecto para que ocurran gran cantidad de eventos, de forma muy violenta e inesperada y aún así mantenerse en silencio, a la larga espera de que el tiempo siga pasando. Es increíble imaginar como a cada segundo ocurre explosiones de magnitudes titánicas en este espacio tiempo y aún así podemos contemplarlos en silencio, un silencio absoluto que lo único que nos hace saber son las grandes distancias que hay entre esos eventos y nosotros, y por supuesto el tiempo relativo que cambia nuestra observación de cada uno de ellos.

Cerca de la constelación de orión, una de sus estrellas estaba poblada por varios planetas, uno de ellos con una civilización bastante inteligente que había logrado diseñar aparatos lo suficientemente inteligente como para explorar su alrededor de una forma bastante efectiva. Habían creado también telescopios avanzados que les permitía saber cuál era el movimiento de las Estrellas y de los planetas más cercanos a ellos, más cercano a algunos años luz de distancia. Su desarrollo fue realmente rápido y obedecía las reglas selección natural, ya que muchas las especies que habían aparecido en ese planeta ya no existían, sólo sobrevivieron aquellas más aptas, las cuales para que el momento eran la especie más inteligente y capaces de controlar todo el ecosistema.

En otras palabras especie estaba en la cima de la cadena alimentaria, de todo este planeta y de forma muy colectiva todas las regiones se habían dedicado al desarrollo de nuevas tecnologías para la exploración espacial, pareciera que todo el planeta estaba muy pendiente de cada uno de los eventos que sucedieron alrededor incluso, una de las metas globales era mejorar la capacidad de exploración de cada uno de sus equipos. Así fue como en varios siglos pudieron desarrollar sistema de detección tan avanzados que les permitía explorar varios años luz a la redonda observando con gran detalle las estrellas y caracterizando cada uno de los planetas que se encontraban a su alrededor, de una forma bastante detallada, en cuanto a su masa, su peso, su territorio, su composición química, la atmósfera, su gravedad sus componentes principales, posibilidad de albergar vida… La búsqueda de la vida no era para ellos una gran prioridad, al menos no más que el entendimiento del movimiento de los planetas y las estrellas. Uno de esos días de larga jornada de investigación logró observar que un gran planeta se aproximaba a gran velocidad hacia ellos, velocidad cercana a la velocidad de la luz.

Fue un hallazgo realmente aterrador, pero también marcó un punto en el antes y el después de la historia del avances tecnológico de esta civilización. Desde ese momento todas las prioridades se centraron en saber exactamente cuándo impactaría ese planeta con su planeta, según los cálculos relativistas de cada uno de los científicos que se propusieron resolver este problema, la gran colisión ocurrida en al menos unos 587 años, un tiempo bastante grande en comparación con la esperanza de vida de estas especies el cual rondaba por unos 120 años. Aún así el problema no era la supervivencia de la generación actual sino que dicha condición representaba la extinción total y la aniquilación del planeta que los había visto evolucionar, el problema ya no se trataba de solamente un grupo de especies y mucho menos un grupo de individuos, el problema ahora se trataba de salvar el planeta en toda su integridad física ya que una colisión de tal magnitud, sólo fragmentará su planeta en miles y miles de millones de pedazos, no había posibilidad alguna de salvación si esto llegase a ocurrir.

En ese momento fue que toda la comunidad científica se centro en idear planes de salvación para cuando era este momento llegara. La primera medida que tuvieron que realizar fue la de la masa aproximada de este planeta para saber científicamente cómo iba a ser la colisión, que tan energética iba a ser, por lo tanto luego de saber que esta colisión era mortal para su planeta decidieron proceder a crear una comisión encargada para buscar soluciones a este futuro problema. Varias comisiones postularon ante la Organización Global de la Ciencia de la Exploración Espacial, una de las soluciones más importantes que se obtuvieron de este congreso fue la migración total de todo el bioma de ese planeta hacia un planeta adyacente, planeta que se encontraba en el mismo sistema que ellos por lo tanto un viaje hacia el mismo sólo duraría pocos meses y representaría una posible solución del problema.

Entre otras las soluciones propuestas en el congreso se planteó la posibilidad de destruir el planeta que se dirigía hacia ellos utilizando grandes y potentes rayos de energía, su hipótesis va acompañada del bombardeo con bombas de alta eficiencia utilizando, obviamente, el poder de la fusión nuclear. En teoría está gran inyección de energía a modo de expansión y de abrasión láser, sería capaz de destruir el planeta que se dirigía hacia ellos, por lo tanto evitar que dicha condición evitará el Apocalipsis Irreversible para todos ellos fue una de las ideas más innovadoras y con mayor receptividad ante la comunidad científica.

Pasaron unos cuantos años hasta que por fin lograron encontrar la forma correcta para utilizar el láser, a fin de destruir el planeta que se acercaba hacia ellos. 150 años antes de la colisión se dieron cuenta utilizando microscopio de baja potencia que el planeta que se acerca a ellos también contenía vida, bajo esta resultados todas las consideraciones realizadas anteriormente tenían que ser modificadas, era increíble pensar que otra civilización también se iba a destruir. En pocos meses lograron comunicarse con sus pares y entendieron que ellos también estaban buscando la forma de detener la Apocalipsis que se cumpliría en menos de 50 años, así que a partir de este momento en la solución de Rayo Láser y de las bombas era totalmente inviable para cada una de las partes. Así pues sólo quedó una solución sobre la mesa y está contemplada la migración selectiva de ciertas comunidades de algunos de los dos planetas, es decir el nuevo planeta el tercer planeta llamado Salvación debía contener un 50% de las especies de un planeta y otro 50% de las especies del segundo planeta. El problema era elegir quién era merecedor de viajar al planeta Salvación.

La prueba de selección fue realmente difícil y moralmente complicada, aún así se eligió aquellas comunidades que presentan características favorables para la futura evolución ideológica, tecnológica, industrial y social del planeta Salvación, de este modo estos grupos llegaron rápidamente para poblar su nuevo planeta. Pasaron 30 años cuando ya ambas especies habían convivido lo suficiente como para integrarse en una sola comunidad de gran diversidad. Al pasar las siguientes dos décadas ambas especies vieron lo inevitable: en el cielo los dos planetas acercándose a gran velocidad y de un momento a otro un destello infernal que delataba la Apocalipsis de los mundos que alguna vez los vieron nacer, y muchos conocidos que estaban muriendo a causa del gran poder de la naturaleza. No había nada que hacer, sus historias, sus orígenes y toda su vida pasada se está destruyendo ante sus ojos pero el brillo que producía en sus ojos en dicha colisión, también era el brillo que se producía cuando pensaban en su nuevo comienzo, ahora no solamente estaba en el nuevo en un nuevo planeta, sino que compartían el mismo con otras especies. La selección natural a veces tiene métodos extraños para favorecer ciertas poblaciones, en este caso la mezcla de ambos fue un ingrediente esencial para el desarrollo de una de las especies más inteligentes que se puede encontrar en el universo hasta los momentos, es un claro ejemplo de cómo la tragedia, la casualidad y la complejidad de la vida puede producir avances inimaginables

The universe seems to be the perfect scenario for a great number of events to take place, in a very violent and unexpected way and still remain silent, long waiting for time to pass. It is incredible to imagine how every second explosions of titanic magnitudes occur in this space of time and yet we can contemplate them in silence, an absolute silence that the only thing that lets us know are the great distances between these events and us, and of course the relative time that changes our observation of each one of them.

Near the constellation of orion, one of its stars was populated by several planets, one of them with a fairly intelligent civilization that had managed to design devices intelligent enough to explore its surroundings in a quite effective way. They had also created advanced telescopes that allowed them to know what was the movement of the Stars and the planets closest to them, closer to a few light years away. Its development was really fast and obeyed the rules of natural selection, since many species that had appeared on that planet no longer existed, only survived those most suitable, which for the moment were the most intelligent species and able to control the entire ecosystem.

In other words, species was at the top of the food chain, of this entire planet and very collectively all regions had been dedicated to the development of new technologies for space exploration, it seems that the entire planet was very aware of each of the events that happened around it, one of the global goals was to improve the exploration capacity of each of its teams. Thus it was that in several centuries they were able to develop such an advanced detection system that allowed them to explore several light years around, observing in great detail the stars and characterizing each of the planets around them, in a quite detailed way, in terms of their mass, their weight, their territory, their chemical composition, the atmosphere, their gravity, their main components, the possibility of harbouring life... The search for life was not a great priority for them, at least not more than the understanding of the movement of planets and stars. One of those days of long day of research managed to observe that a great planet was approaching them at great speed, speed close to the speed of light.

It was a truly frightening find, but it also marked a turning point in the before and after history of the technological advances of this civilization. From that moment all the priorities were centered in knowing exactly when that planet would impact with its planet, according to the relativistic calculations of each one of the scientists who proposed to solve this problem, the great collision occurred in at least 587 years, a quite great time in comparison with the life expectancy of these species which was around 120 years. At that time it was that the entire scientific community focused on devising salvation plans by the time this moment arrived. The first measure they had to make was the approximate mass of this planet to know scientifically how the collision was going to be, how energetic it was going to be, therefore after knowing that this collision was deadly for their planet they decided to proceed to create a commission in charge to look for solutions to this future problem. Several commissions applied to the Global Organization of Space Exploration Science, one of the most important solutions that were obtained from this congress was the total migration of the entire biome of that planet to an adjacent planet, planet that was in the same system that they therefore a trip to it would only last a few months and would represent a possible solution of the problem.

In a few months they were able to communicate with their peers and understood that they were also looking for a way to stop the Apocalypse that would be fulfilled in less than 50 years, so from this moment on the solution of Laser Ray and bombs was totally unfeasible for each of the parts. So there was only one solution on the table and is contemplated the selective migration of certain communities of some of the two planets, ie the new planet the third planet called Salvation should contain 50% of the species of one planet and another 50% of the species of the second planet. The selection test was really difficult and morally complicated, even so those communities were chosen that present favorable characteristics for the future ideological, technological, industrial and social evolution of the planet Salvation, in this way these groups arrived quickly to populate their new planet. Thirty years passed when both species had already coexisted long enough to be integrated into a single community of great diversity. As the next two decades passed both species saw the inevitable: in the sky the two planets approaching at great speed and from one moment to the next an infernal flash that betrayed the Apocalypse of the worlds that once saw them born, and many acquaintances who were dying because of the great power of nature. There was nothing to do, their stories, their origins and all their past life is being destroyed before their eyes but the brightness that produced in their eyes in such a collision, was also the brightness that was produced when they thought of their new beginning, now not only was in the new on a new planet, but they shared the same with other species. The natural selection sometimes has strange methods to favor certain populations, in this case the mixture of both was an essential ingredient for the development of one of the most intelligent species that can be found in the universe until now, is a clear example of how tragedy, chance and complexity of life can produce unimaginable advances.
