This seems like an excellent idea. To join I simply send a membership fee? And then after that we function as a guild, upvoting one another's work? How do we know who to vote for and when? Thanks!
Yes to join you simply send a membership fee (initially).
Being a guild is part of the idea. Voting one another's work will add value together. That is optional and not required.
Not sure on who to vote for and when just yet. Will think on this idea more in time. One way is by following others in the group / guild. Maybe we can have a way to follow the votes of the @steemprentice group voting which is another idea if that would be of interest to further explore.
