I'm Missing Something or TERRIBLE at Math

in #steempower7 years ago

A week ago, I introduced myself to the Steemit community. I received $0.05 for my post and powered up so that I would get it all in SteemPower. My article finally was paid, but the amount I received doesn't match the amount that was paid out. Even though it shows that $0.05 was paid out, I only received 0.01 in SteemPower. Is there a reason why I didn't receive 0.05 in SteemPower?

Maybe it's because 1 STEEM is worth about 5 USD. So your reward is 0.05USD = 0.01STEEM.

Thanks for the reply. So the rewards are quoted in USD then, not steem/sbd?

As far as I know it's a bit more complex: 1SBD was made to have a constant value of 1USD, but that didn't work out (it's about 4USD : 1 SBD). The rewards are shown under the assumption that 1USD = 1SBD.
An example: I'm getting payed 50% in steempower and 50% in SBD. My last payout was shown as 0.026USD so I got 0.013SBD and the remaining 0.013USD were equivalent to the 0.0026SP that I got.
I hope that helps!

It does, thanks!
