Steemph in Project Alinaga's latest initiative: Art Workshop with the Dumagat Tribe, Norzagaray, Bulacan
Who wants to join Marlon aka @flabbergast-art and live with our Dumagat Tribe for 3 days this end of October? This involves hiking, so guys, please be healthy as I have no idea on how far they are, how long is the hike!
As of yesterday, the SteemPh Family was very quiet in it's anticipation for the coming Year-End Party, although we do have another initiative by November with Marlon (exact date TBA). Out of the blue, here comes Marlon with an invite to hold an ART Workshop with the Dumagat Tribe.
Date: October 29-31st.
Who are the Dumagat Tribe?
In the past, the Indeginous Dumagat people in Luzon, lived in the coastal areas of Aurora and Quezon provinces, but due to Filipino homesteaders in their region, they were pushed into the mountains, scattered in small groups. From semi-nomadic existence, in search of better habitation, they have learned to live permanent settlements. With depleted forest resources due to illegal logging, they are very poor economically.
They depend on their relationship for their daily portion of food."
In this day and age, this is very much happening. One of our co-Steemians from Bulacan reported of collecting and donating canned food for them every Christmas.
The PLAN
I wasn't really listening to Marlon when he said he will be teaching the Tribe's youth with CHARCOAL PAINTING, due to the fact that they are into illegal logging. Now, that doesn't sound right is it? I need to talk to him about that. He can draw with a BALLPEN, why not that? As they will be carrying donated clothes and toys, maybe a couple of paints will do.
Also, as he and his band will be living with the Tribe for 3 days, Marlon will be checking for raw materials that can be used for CRAFT that they can earn with. Here is where we can bring Steemit to them.

I can talk briefly about growing vegs too. This way they will be able to grow some of their food. I will bring seeds too.

I can help with the set up on the 29th, sorry can't commit to all the three days though because of my day job.
