SteemPH Meet Up Caravan Updated Schedule & Format
In a week's time we will be in Kawit, Cavite for the second stop of the SteemPH Meet Up Caravan. We wanted to give everyone an update on the schedule and key developments in the format of the Caravan in this post.
What all started out of a desire to get Steemians in a local community in the province of Bulacan together evolved into what is now known as SteemPH Meet Up Caravan. We are convinced that the format will continue evolving to support the growth of the Philippines Steemit community, as well as the bigger global community. Here are the things that changed from ideation to-date.
A Power Up Challenge
The idea is to incentivize attendees who will commit to the platform for the long-term through powering up. We made the announcement in SteemPH Meet Up Caravan Power Up Challenge. The overall idea is to accumulate bigger amount of Steem Power per Steemian - that they can use to support one another. We will do this in every location where the Caravan will host a meet up, and will be exclusive for the attendees. The rewards will be funded as part of the overall budget of the Caravan.

Sub-Community Building
As the Philippine community grow, we will need the function of sub-communities that the local core groups will be entrusted to grow and develop. For the SteemPH Meet Up Caravan #1 - Bulacan for example, we have set up a chat group for the participants to continue supporting each other even after the event. The group from Bulacan are very engaged and are just about ready to form a @SteemPH.Bulacan.
We will do the same for the the Cavite meet up in preparation for a @SteemPH.Cavite. As early as the planning stage we are already seeing dedicated Steemians who can potentially form the core group and drive further growth for a Cavite Steemit community.
Community Effort Prioritization
Cavite wasn't even on our list when we first announced the SteemPH Meet Up Caravan. It was @watersnake101's comment on the post stating his interest in organizing something for their local community that quickly got Cavite to be the second stop of the Caravan. @watersnake101's been busy since looking for venue, gathering participants, and making brilliant suggestions for presentation coverage.
In his recent post titled Meet Up Caravan Steemit Cavite Update he gave all the important updates on venue, schedule, and list of participants. Cavite Steemians' efforts made us realize that we do not have to be the only ones to exert effort in making things happen. There are Steemians out there who are willing to go out of their way to support the cause we are trying to drive.
