Unboxing Xiaomi Redmi 4A

Few days ago I received my order for a new phone. It's the Xiaomi Redmi 4A. This phone is for my father but I need to set it up first. Let me share my unboxing experience and initial impression of this phone.

I got this phone for P4,990. Which is about 100 USD. I don't have much expectations for the phone at all. The box is small and compact. Inside the box, is just the phone, the micro usb cable, sim ejector pin and the charger. No headset and free case.

Whrn I turned on the phone, initial set-up took about 5 minutes. The initial loading of the apps took the longest during the set.up.

The phone is 5" with 720p display. It's not the best display but us certainly good considering the price point. Build quality is also good. It's made of plastic but when I initially held it, I thought it was metal.

Once the device fully loaded, operation is quick and smooth. Camera is serviceable for the price but not the sharpest or with the best details compared to other budget phones. I've seen other selfie-centric phones with better cameras.

Overall initial impression has been good. Build quality, screen and battery is above average for its price. The camera is probably the least thing going for this phone.

I would still suggest this for those with a tight budget.
