A creepy story...

MT. BATULAO - PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

2010 around 7pm - Six of my friends and I decided to do a night trek in Mt. Batulao as a sidetrip from a family affair in Punta Fuego in Batangas. During the time, local guides were not mandatory. We re-packed our things and did some final preps for the climb.

We were set and ready to climb when two young boys about the age 9 or 10 approached us. One of them spoke to us and told us "kuya guide ko na po kayo" I asked him "magkano?" and he told us "kayo na po bahala, pang baon ko lang" and so we agreed.

The hike commenced. The two boys were ahead of us because we were climbing leisurely enjoying the cold air of the night. We arrived at the campsite a little past 10pm. There were a few campers that night, so we set up our tents and prepared sandwich for dinner. The boys went straight to the kubo (hut) to drink water.

It was windy so we decided to have our socials inside the big tent we brought but we kept the door open. While eating, the boys went outside our tent sat down and just stared at us. We offered them our sandwich, some candies and chocolates and they went back to the hut.

Morning came and we were awake early so we can climb down as early as possible to avoid the scorching heat of the sun. Our breakfast already prepared, we called on the two boys to have breakfast with us. One of the boys (the one who offered us to be our guide) came out of the hut and hurriedly went to us, got his breakfast and sat down with us. We asked him, "asan yung kasama mo?" he looked puzzled and answered us "Sino pong kasama?" and we asked him again "Diba dalawa kayo kagabi? Yung kasama mo na nag guide samin tawagin mo na para maka-kain na din." he scratched his head and told us " Kuya ako lang naman po mag isa ang nag guide sa inyo. Wala po akong kasama kagabi"
