Green Mango
I love to eat sour foods. Green mango is one of my favorites. Back home in the Philippines, we are picking the mangoes right from the tree with a pole. Mangoes are abundant in our place. We have one in our backyard so when it's their season, we just sit under the tree with a shrimp paste, bagoong (fish sauce) or a simple salt for the dippings.
Here in UAE, you can also find green mangoes but very pricey. This one was bought by my husband for 6 Dirhams. 84 PHP when converted to our Philippine currency but because I was craving for green mango last night, he bought it just at the nearest vegetable market below our flat.
I was planning to make a vinegar and soy sauce for the dipping but I saw this shrimp paste on our kitchen shelf so I made this instead, cut a birds eye chili and here it goes!
