Bamboo planting in Bayawan City together with @flabbergast-art project " The Walk of Hope "

Last week April 29, 2018 was the schedule of our bamboo planting in Bayawan City Negros Oriental. Together with @bobiecayao member of @steemphnegros team and @flabbergast-art who started the " Walk of Hope Project ". We coordinated with the Bayawani group of indigenous people in Bayawan whos advocacy is to promote the place like products, ecological project, livelihood, art, culture, wellness and many more. Where Tatay Dagsa is one of the member who served as our medium and to promote as well the project of @flabbergast-art as well.

Then we as part of that project we help them to promote the advocacy and to support them in some event. Like the recent activity that we planted bamboos with special participation of some students in selected schools in Bayawan.

The purpose of tree planting is to add more bamboo trees in authorized land areas only. Where we can plant like bamboos, because Bayawan is known as best producer of bamboo with good quality in Negros.
Which is also perfect for making arts, furniture's and other product made of bamboo.

We are instructed how to plant the bamboos properly to make sure that the distances of each bamboo are precise.

What To do

• Dig a hole with depth of one foot
• The dimension should be 1-1/2 square foot
• place the bamboo plant at the center
• Fill the hole slowly with soil
• Don't compress the soil so it wont affect the growing process of plant
• estimation of right distance from first plant to the next plant.

The location of the place where we planted the bamboo trees is perfect. Because of the fertile soil and the temperature with in the area is really best for bamboo trees as they are growing older.

The project is not only about saving the nature, but it also a way to teach young people how to become more responsible and aware what's going on with our environment.

We also let them experience how to become a farmer once in a while. Teach them to improve their network by meeting new people during the event. It will also help them to develop self esteem which is very substantial for a young people nowadays.

Together with @bobiecayao, @flabbergast-art, Tatay Dagsa and all the student who participated on our project.
We successfully planted all the bamboo plants that day before the rain drops.

We are hoping that those bamboo plants we planted will grow bountifully and will be used for future project in Bayawan City.

For now these are the things that I can share with you about the project and as soon as there are changes or progress.
I will not hesitate to give you an update before and after we finalize a new event like this recent project "The bamboo planting" .
