I like foods serve hot like soup. Almost any kind of soup base is my thing especially those rainy days. But my ever love of it all is the 'CHAMPORADO'

A rice or sticky rice porridge, 'lugaw' with tablea. It is simple to cook. Boiling water and stirring the rice until its becomes soft and just toss some tablea in it. Make sure its perfectly melted.
Sticky rice is kind of special and a bit expensive so we only have it mix in some normal rice. Usually in our home in the province, we used our 'bahaw' or leftover cooked rice since no one like to eat cold rice, except maybe if we are that hungry. Like those times when we just got home from school in the afternoon. We only traveled by foot then in mostly 30mins before we reached home, so energy was so used up. We tend to hurry in the kitchen to grab some bahaw.
Back in the days, we made our own tablea since we have 2 cacao trees bearing fruits then. We save the seeds, clean and process for it to be eligible for crushing, we then bring those to 'Manding Romana Cacao milling' or in bisaya we call it 'galingan'. I always love the smell of freshly milled cacao seeds. Its hot and sticky paste which we should form it into circle or mold it before it becomes hard when temperature is down. We then keep the molded tablea in a glass jar. When its raining, this will always be our food. We eat champorado with dried fish. The combination of sweetness of champorado since we add sugar in it, compliments best to the salty fish. I also like to have condensed milk or powdered in it depending if its available in our little kitchen.

Do you like champorado too?
Until next time, bye bye!
