Being a mother is no easy task. And for men, sometimes we take for granted, all the sacrifices mothers make. For many Filipina mothers, there comes a day when one has to make the decision of continuing to work a regular job, or becoming a stay-at-home mother. Some Filipinas make this decision when they first get married, some after they have their first child. Many however, wait even longer than that.

But, for all those involved, being a mother is so very important to our society, that we often forget what all is at stake. Studies have shown that if children are not physically held or touched by their parents a minimum of 52 times per day, have a greater chance of growing up to be criminals.

children whose parents are not active in their daily lives, becomes lazy, they overact, and generally speaking, they end up being a bad influence on others when they get older.

Being a mother, or as some call it, becoming a housewife, not only means that they stay at home and take care of the kids' every need throughout the day, but many continue to contribute to the household finances, such as running small businesses -- washing clothes, opening a sari-sari store and engaging in Amway, Avon and countless other MLM programs that are available today.

This means moms work harder too!

so we must always remember how important our mothers are -- not just on Mother's Day, but on every single day of the year.
