STEEM Park : The Internet's Small Town Meets the Big Apple

The STEEM Park grand opening was this Sunday, July 16th 2017! The Park is now open to the public, free for anyone to visit and explore! Our team was thrilled with the final result and hope that you are as well. We couldn't have ever made this project a reality without the help of thousands of Steemians all across the globe. STEEM Park was a true community effort! Now, this project is helping the IRL community of Herbert Von King Park. The community leaders were absolutely blown away.
"We love this park, this is our neighborhood, thank you!"
I spoke with dozens of park-goers on Sunday who were shocked to see all of these people unloading new furniture and planting beautiful flowers. One man described it like a shot of adrenaline that the community needs to push their community forward. I can say for certain that this is not the end of STEEM Park, this is the beginning...
@hansikhouse and I ( collectively we are @hitheryon ) were absolutely thrilled. Thank you ALL so much for coming out on Sunday and for your endless support and enthusiasm both online and off-line. We, as a community, made this vision a reality!

Steemit is has opened so many doors and people are finding ingenious ways to improve the local community.
This is one of the greatest powers of Steemit.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. Steemit is truly a powerful community with absolutely amazing ideas. We were so fortunate to have had an opportunity to share ours. I can't wait to see what this Steemit family is capable of over the next year +

It's at Herbert Von King Park in Bed Stuy (formerly called Tompkins Park)... definitely check it out!

Beautiful! Question... who will maintain this park now that it is a reality?
A great question! We're working with the conservancy right now to develop a long term / seasonal plan. They want the park to become a permanent fixture, which we're thrilled about! Our goal is to use Steemit as a resource to continue funding the maintenance and upkeep of the plants and planters as time goes on. We have some exciting updates on this that we'll be announcing in the next couple weeks. Stay tuned! :D
